Custom Acoustic Operable Walls

An operable wall functions as a moveable partition system that can completely isolate a large hall into smaller, soundproofed meeting rooms within minutes. Unlike permanent drywall, these systems operate on an overhead track mechanism, eliminating the need for disruptive floor guides.

When deployed, internal mechanical seals expand against the floor and ceiling. This pressure mechanism creates a tight barrier that blocks sound transmission, allowing confidential board meetings and loud presentations to occur simultaneously in adjacent rooms.

Because structural configurations and ceiling heights vary across commercial buildings in Kuala Lumpur and greater Malaysia, prefabricated solutions often lead to acoustic leaks. A gap of just a few millimeters can compromise the entire soundproofing efficiency of a room.

German Style Operable Wall Models and Technical Specifications

Three German style operable wall models are available, each engineered for a different ceiling height range and sound insulation requirement. All three models are CE tested under EN 1364-1:2015 and covered by an Attestation of Conformity issued by EU TEST, valid until 26 August 2030.

How to Select the Right Model

Model selection depends on two site variables: structural ceiling height and the required sound reduction index. KWAY65 at RW38 provides reliable speech privacy for standard meeting rooms up to 4m. KWAY85 at RW52 suits hotel function rooms and multipurpose halls up to 5.5m where amplified audio is used. KWAY100 at RW56 supports panel heights up to 20m, making it the correct specification for ballrooms and convention venues running simultaneous events in adjacent spaces.

Certified Acoustic and Fire Resistance Performance

Every model series is manufactured under a verified quality system and tested against EN 1364-1:2015, the European standard for fire resistance of non loadbearing partition walls. Full documentation is available for consultant submission, tender compliance, and Bomba related project requirements upon request.
